The Pan Asian Fund is a new production financing fund launched by FFS and backed by several Asian venture capital companies.
The Pan Asian Fund finances part of the costs of films that have production, CGI viusual effects or post-production work in Asia. The Fund is especially active in China and Korea but can participate in financing films to be made anywhere in the world.
Frequently, shooting takes place in a Western tax-credit jurrisdiction and visual effects work is done in Asia.
The Pan-Asian Fund can provide gap finance and also invest visual effects and post production services as equity. The Fund can buy rights outright, make minimum guarantees, cashflow production costs, provide completion or Westernization funds and provide marketing funds. FFS also can arrange international co-productions for films and bring in the Western (or Asian) co-producing partners as well as additional financing.
Each film is evaluated on a case-by-case basis for inclusion in the Pan-Asian Fund and FFS helps the producer arrive at the smartest financing structure for his or her film.
FFS can can arrange worldwide distribution.
Through the Pan-Asian Fund, FFS wants to help Asian producers optimize the exposure of their films in the West and help Western producers find quality producing and distribution partners in Asia - building long-term relationships that make sense for everyone.
